Little rolls of 1/8" ribbon caught my eye in the store yesterday . . . and I wondered how it would be to crochet with it. So, it seemed like a good idea to pick up a roll each of red, white and blue. This little cuff takes no time to make and really could be redesigned in any color and with all kinds of embellishments.
How to: with the royal blue, chain 26, single crochet (sc) in second chain (ch) from hook and across for 25 sc, ch 1, turn. Work 4 more rows in sc, so you will have five rows of 25 sc. End off blue.
Slip stitch around entire cuff with white ribbon. End off.
Surface crochet along both sides of the middle row with red. End off.
To make the button tab, attach blue to center of short end, ch 8, slip stitch back in the same spot and end off.
Sew button on for the closure and additional buttons to embellish if desired. Use a large eyed needle to weave in all ribbon ends.
Done!! Put on and enjoy some flag waving fun on the 4th!
I used Offray spool ribbon in 1/8" width by 10 yards length. It took almost all 10 yards of the blue, and you will have plenty of red and white left for another project. The star buttons are by JHB.
